Subject: Hopper Creek Path Reopened After Heritage Tree Removal
The safe removal of the Grandfather Oak Tree was completed just prior the Thanksgiving holiday. After tree debris is removed and repairs made to the pathway, the Hopper Creek Path is now safe for path users and has been re-opened. Residents are now able to access the path and view the remnant of the tree and the child tree that will be supported and nourished by the remaining prodigy.
The child tree will be a legacy for many generations to enjoy as it grows in what was once the shadow of the Grandfather Oak. The Town will be creating a storyboard commemorating the history of the “Grandfather Oak” and placing it along the section of the path by the trunk of the Grandfather Oak Tree.
