Center Show Opens Thursday, April 25
The opening reception for “The Art of Jim Stallings” will be held Thursday, April 25, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Gallery at the Yountville Community Center located at 6516 Washington Street in Yountville, CA. Beverages and light bites will be provided.
Jim Stallings is considered an artist’s artist. After earning a degree at the University of Central Oklahoma, he spent time in museums of London and Paris while earning a diploma from City University of London. Before moving to Hawaii, he backpacked the Grand Canyon and Denali National Park, Alaska. His first gallery showings were in Lahaina, Maui, where he opened a gallery of his own.
Stallings has always explored the relationship between music and pure color. This has led to his painting live on stage with symphony orchestras, including Maui, Long Beach, San Diego and Honolulu. He painted with the Russian National Orchestra during their visit to Yountville in 2011.
He seeks harmony of music and color and their positive effects on the human spirit. In essence, he collaborates with scientists, conductors and musicians. The musical sweep extends to his painting to live jazz at Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Napa and New York. Stallings has long been associated with the Napa Valley, including a tenure as guest artist at Clos Pegase Winery.
The Art of Jim Stallings” is presented by Yountville Arts. The exhibit will extend through Friday, July 26, 2019.
