Subject: Yount Street Paving Project to Begin Phase 2

The process for reconstruction on Yount Street between Washington Street and Mount Street which began on April 3, 2019, now enters Phase 2.

The work on Phase 2 includes asphalt demolition, grading, and replacement of the old roadway. The contractor will provide resident notification for those impacted by the work.

During construction in Phase 2, Yount Street will be accessible to local traffic (local traffic defined as residents that live on Yount Street) only. No street parking will be available while the paving is being done. All work will be done between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to adhere to the Town’s noise and construction rules. Detours will be set up, and residents may want to avoid this area during the construction period.

A Granite Construction Foreman will be on site during work hours. If you have any questions, please contact Project Engineer Erik Owenson at (707) 485-2092.

The Town of Yountville and Granite Construction Company request that everyone obey the traffic control and follow detours as they are there for the safety of the public and the workers on site.

At the March 5, 2019, Council Meeting, the Town Council approved and awarded a construction contract to Granite Construction Company in an amount of $445,052.20 for the reconstructing and repaving of Yount Street from Washington Street to Mount Street (MT-3019). This project uses local Measure T monies, which is a countywide half-cent sales tax used for street improvements. This project follows the recent waterline replacement project that was completed in February 2019.
