Subject: Microsurfacing Project to Begin the Week of August 26, 2019
Beginning the week of August 26, Microsurfacing will occur in various neighborhoods throughout Town. Microsurfacing improves the surface of the roadway and also extends the service life. This work will be completed by American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Company. The following streets will receive this improvement:
Pedroni Street, Jefferson Street, Ivy Court, Stags View Lane,
Larskpur Street, Holly Street, Heather Street and Mulberry Street.
The work will be divided into five (5) phases:
Phase I: week of August 26 - stripe removal
Phase II: week of September 3 (after Labor Day) - Crackfill
Phase III: week of September 9 - Asphalt patching
Phase IV: week of September 17 - Microsurfacing
Phase V: week of September 23 - Striping replacement
During construction, streets will be accessible to local traffic (local traffic defined as residents who live on affected streets) only, with delays up to fifteen (15) minutes. No street parking will be available while the microsurfacing is being done. All work will be done between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to adhere to the Town’s noise and construction rules. Detours will be set up, and residents may want to avoid these areas during the construction period. Once applied, the microsurfacing could require up to six (6) hours to set, during which time traffic and parking will be prohibited. It is anticipated that this will occur during the week of September 17, 2019.
An American Asphalt employee will be on site during work hours. If you have any questions, please contact Project Manager Ricardo Buenrostro at (510) 723-0280.
The Town of Yountville and American Asphalt request that everyone obey the traffic control and follow detours as they are there for the safety of the public and the workers on site.
At the August 6, 2019 Town Council Meeting, the Town Council approved and awarded a construction contract to American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Company in an amount of $175,195.80 for microsrufacing in various locations (MT-3020). This project uses local Measure T monies, which is a countywide half-cent sales tax used for street improvements.
