Yountville Community Center Update re: COVID 19

Cancellations and Changes

Post Date:03/12/2020 4:50 PM

Today, Governor Newsom issued an executive order providing directions and mandates from State of California Public Health Officials regarding COVID-19. Those orders recommend that we cancel non-essential events, gatherings and meetings to assist in slowing the spread of the virus.

The Governor’s Office is directing the cancellation or rescheduling of non-essential events and programs especially for those in the higher risk category. As such, the Town of Yountville will be cancelling most recreational classes and programs at the Yountville Community Center through March 31, 2020. *Please note this does not apply to the Yountville Library's normal operations. Any changes to that would come from Napa County*

Cancellations include all Golden Ticket Program Classes, Open Gym Basketball and Pickleball, Yoga and Zumba classes, as well as Town facilitated events including the book event featuring Katy Butler this Friday, March 13. The cancellations will be effective March 13, 2020 through March 31, 2020 at this point. Customers can expect a refund for the cancelled class dates. Please look for additional communication from our Parks and Recreation Department with that information.

Our parks and outdoor areas will remain open as normal.  We encourage you to get outside and enjoy our parks, pathways, exercise equipment, and playgrounds.

We also encourage you to follow the recommendations put forth by the State and Local Health Departments to protect yourself and others including:

  • Washing your hands frequently and well
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover your coughs or sneezes
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • If you are sick, Stay Home!

And continue to monitor the Napa County Public Health website: https://www.countyofnapa.org/2739/Coronavirus and  the California Department of Public Health:https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/ncov2019.aspx  for updated information.

Please call the Parks and Recreation Department at (707) 944-8712 or email parksandrec@yville.com with any questions specific to programming at the Community Center.
