Subject: Miss Carol Rasmussen is Retiring!

Join us in celebrating the retirement of “Miss Carol” Rasmussen after over 11 years as a Recreation Coordinator with the Town of Yountville. Carol has been instrumental in the lives of most children and families who have come through Yountville Elementary or enrolled in Camp Y-Ville for the past 11 years. Miss Carol’s official last day is June 9, 2017.

After starting her career with Monterey County Parks and Recreation, the Girl Scouts of America and the United Way, Carol moved to Napa when her husband Dave’s job with PG&E relocated him in 1993. After her three daughters (Emily, Christina and Erica) completed school, Carol was excited to get back to working with children and in 2006, Carol came to Yountville Parks and Recreation.

Over the past 11 years, Carol has heavily contributed to what makes Yountville a special place for kids. Her enthusiasm, dedication and love for our children is something that could never be duplicated. Carol goes above and beyond to help not just our kids but our families. We often joke that Carol is much more than a childcare provider… She is a therapist, doctor, comedian, coach, shoulder to cry on, tough love giver, cab driver and family counselor. She always makes sure that our kids are taken care of including adopting families in need each Christmas to give food and gifts to and packing a lunch when a student forgot his at home. There are so many unsaid things that Carol has done over these past 11 years for our families. We would love for you to join us to celebrate her.

The public is invited to drop by an open house retirement event for Carol on Saturday, June 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Yountville Community Park. Drinks, Food, Kids activities and shaved ice from “Two Girls Shave Ice” will be provided.

We will have supplies for you to make a “Note to Carol” which we will assemble into a keep sake book for her. If you’d like to bring pictures to contribute, that would be welcome. If you cannot make it but wish to send over a note, feel free to email it to Stacy at the address below or mail to 6516 Washington Street Yountville, CA 94599.

Please RSVP by calling Stacy at 944-8712 or emailing sdiaz@yville.com.
