The Town of Yountville was incorporated on February 4, 1965.  There are nine Departments within Town Government.  Below are brief descriptions of each department.

Administration:  Ensures smooth running of daily office operations, manages all official Town correspondence and personnel administration and provides staff support to other staff.

Town Attorney:  Provides legal advice to the Town Council and staff in carrying out their duties in the operations of the Town government.  The Attorney defends the Town in all legal actions and brings about suits on behalf of the Town but is not a public defender of citizens.

Town Clerk:  Maintains all official Town documents, including minutes, resolutions, ordinances and contracts; prepares agendas and meeting notices and conducts all municipal elections.

Parks & Recreation Department:  Manages the planning, organizing, staffing, directing and reviewing of recreation, Community Center and Community Hall and other community service activities and provides staff assistance to the Town Manager and Town Council.

Finance:  Prepares Town budget, coordinates utility billing and other Town Financial operations and assigned activities with other Town departments and outside agencies.  Provides staff assistance to the Town Manager, Town Council and also serves as the Town Treasurer.

Planning, Building and Engineering:  Coordinates and administers Town planning operations, issues building permits and conducts inspections, reviews project applications and administers the water conservation program.

Public Works/Parks:  Maintains and repairs all of the Town’s parks, streets, water system and other public works facilities.

Public Safety:  Provides law enforcement, crime prevention, fire protection and emergency response services and works with TEAM youth group.

Wastewater Treatment:  Manages daily wastewater operation and repairs.  Manages and maintains collection system.
