Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Reporting

FPPC Overview

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) was created by the Political Reform Act of 1974 (Act), a ballot initiative passed by California voters in 1974 as Proposition 9. The FPPC regulates campaign financing and spending; financial conflicts of interest; lobbyist registration and reporting; post-governmental employment; mass mailings at public expense; and gifts and honoraria given to public officials and candidates. FPPC Reporting

The Town Clerk is designated as the filing official for the Town of Yountville for various reporting requirements mandated by the FPPC which includes the Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests; Form 806 - Agency Report of Public Official Appointments and campaign financing and spending forms related to the election of the Town's Mayor and Council Members.

Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests

The FPPC requires the Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interest to be filed annually by the Town Council and members of the Town's Boards and Commissions.

87200 Filers

Public Officials identified in Government Code Section 87200 must follow regulations for disclosure of economic interests should they have a conflict of interest.

The Mayor and Town Councilmembers are elected officials identified in Section 87200 and must file statements of economic interest forms with the Town Clerk's office.
