Subject: You Can Paint Artists to hold show and sale on Friday, February 9th
5 – 7 p.m. at the Yountville Community Hall
Students from the You Can Paint Class at the Yountville Community Center, led by local artist and teacher Francine Kohn, will host a SHOW AND SALE on Friday, February 9 from 5 – 7 PM at the Yountville Community Hall located at 6516 Washington Street in Yountville. Refreshments will be served, and attendees can meet the artists as well as view and purchase artwork. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
You Can Paint is a program created by Francine Kohn that began in 2022 as part of the Yountville Parks and Recreation Golden Ticket Program. Francine’s desire to bring people together to explore art regardless of their artistic ability is what drove the idea. The acrylic painting class allows students to explore their own artistic style and flare while receiving guidance and assistance.
As a lifelong artist and professional teacher, Francine works to blend emotion with reality so you can discover shapes and scenes you recognize while touching and experiencing the eternal within each of us for health and healing. Francine Kohn's Evolutionary Moving Pictures weave layers of unique transparent and translucent, glowing and shimmering color harmonies with glazing techniques from the Masters.
Francine believes that making art is different than playing a musical instrument. People are willing to sound bad when they learn to play the violin, but with art if it doesn't look like a masterpiece, they decide to never make art again. She works to set up bridges where students can freely express themselves, while the technical parts are structured to ensure the finished piece looks good. In stages the bridges are removed as confidence is gained and the student soars!
