The Town's Public Works Department has hired a contractor to provide preventative maintenance on our water system. This work isa a zero-waste method for annual water system maintenance flushing utilizing the fire hydrants
The change in flow caused by this work could cause water in your faucets to appear reddish or brownish. The water is still treated and safe but is discolored and could stain light colored clothes if doing laundry. This discoloration could appear towards the end of the workday due to the water flushing through the lines. We recommend letting the water run from your faucet for a few minutes to clear out the discolored water.
