Yountville Parks and Recreation is pleased to share that on Friday, October 6 a live performance of the historical drama/comedy “Rosalie Street” will be offered at the Yountville Community Center as part of the Yountville Days weekend of events.

“Rosalie Street” was originally written by Yountville Native Daughter Louise Anderson for a series of celebrations that occurred in 1989 to celebrate 150 years of Napa being a wine grape growing region. The fictitious play shares an encounter between Gottlieb Groezinger, Yountville’s first distillery and winery owner, and Charles Boles AKA Black Bart, the most famous a several “gentleman highwaymen” know to frequent the Napa Valley. Rosalie Street was rumored to be the original name of Washington Street in Yountville, named after Rosalie Troudel Groezinger, the wife of Gottlieb Groezinger.

Parks and Recreation Director Samantha Holland commented, “we are excited to be partnering with Louise and Wordplay to bring the play back in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Yountville Days Parade!”

Louise is looking for local actors to get involved! The commitment is short (one dress rehearsal on 10/5 and the play on 10/6) but the cast of characters is fun! Visit to learn more. Interested actors can reach out to Louise at

Tickets for the performance are available at

Wordplay is a local Performance Reader’s Theater Group offering actors the ability to participate in live theater without memorization and weeks of rehearsals! Contact Louise Anderson at to learn more.
