Subject:        Call for Artists - “The Heart of Friendship” Show at the Steve Rogers Gallery at Community Center

Steve Rogers Gallery

Exhibit On Display:

January 18, 2024 through March 29, 2024

Yountville Arts is seeking artists for the upcoming The Heart of Friendship show at the Steve Rogers Gallery at Community Center. The Heart of Friendship runs January 18, 2024 through March 29, 2024, taking place during the Napa Valley Mustard Celebration. The Heart of Friendship Gallery Show is open for reservations and submittals. Early reservations are advised as we have limited space and we want to ensure your place on our walls!

As one part of our annual Find your (Glass) Heart in Yountville, our gallery component will be a show bringing artist friends paired with each other displaying the work of each and writing the short story of their friendship. Your two showpieces will be hung with your story about your friendship on our gallery walls.

For example….

Artist Sue is a painter of birds and has known Artist Linda who is a painter of landscapes for many years. They have become friends over the years and now will be asked to pair-up and each submit a piece of their art for our show. It’s their choice as to whether they create a piece with the same theme or submit a piece from their inventory. Integrated with the pairings will be a written story about their friendship and/or relationship.

Artist information:

  •  This is an invitational, open to all artists.
  • Pick your favorite artist friend. A friend could be a fellow artist or a relative as long as you are both artists (in your own ways) and have a relationship with each other and a story to tell.
  • Pets may participate as long as the pet contributes to the pairing in an artistic way.
  • All media accepted, two or three dimensional.
  • Artist pieces can either show the theme of friendship or may be taken from artist own inventory as long as they are submitted as a pair and the artists have a story to tell about their friendship. In other words, art does not have to have the same theme unless you choose to do so.
  • Your story is an important component of your pairing.
  • We will create QR Codes for each pairing to further reinforce your ‘Friendships’ with an audio recording. We will contact you to arrange the recording.

To apply, we’ll need your two ‘Friends’ names and a commitment to one piece of art from each of you plus a written story of your ‘Friendship’. Applying is simple, follow this link to our Gallery Website Page {https://townofyountville.com/240/Steve-Rogers-Gallery-at-the-Community-Ce} and either fill out an online application or print it and email to yountvillearts@yville.com and ronda.schaer.arts@yville.com

Thank you very much for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
