MANDATORY BOIL WATER NOTICE

The Town issued a mandatory boil water notice today, October 20, at the direction our water supplier CalVet. We have been sharing information on our communications channels and will continue to post updates on our website as details become available. You can read the full press release here.

Limited bottled water is available at two locations and a potable filling station has been opened at Fire Station 12.

In the Spotlight: Yountville Days Parade and Festival

The 45^th Yountville Days Parade and Festival was a successful event that brought the community together to celebrate our roots. Town Council took part, demonstrating their creative flair by decorating five electric carts with themes of Cooperation, Communication, Collaboration, and Caring. They joined hands with members of the Allied Council from the Veterans Home, underlining the spirit of unity and support within our town.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with 29 parade entries, 30 volunteers, and 19 hardworking staff members ensuring everything ran smoothly. The festival hosting 6 vendors and collaborated with 10 partner organizations!

It was a well-attended, safe, and successful day that showcased our commitment to working together and caring for one another.

October 17 Town Council Meeting

Tuesday's Town Council meeting agenda was light but highlighted important matters. Council approved submitting a request to the Napa County Board of Supervisors to conduct a special election on March 5, 2024 to bring forth a ballot measure for voter consideration, Measure U. This ballot measure would increase the Town's Appropriations (Gann) Limit. For more detailed information, please see the agenda and staff report.

The second reading of the Tree Ordinance amendments was approved at the meeting and will take effect 30 days after the adoption.

Planning & Building Update

Land Use Applications/Projects – Staff continues to work with project applicants regarding current Land Use applications for the following: 6867 Jefferson Street, Yountville Crossroads (Oak & Vine Subdivision), 6630 Jefferson Street, the Humboldt Mixed-Use project on the vacant lot at the corner of Humboldt and Jefferson, the French Laundry Garden, R+D Master Development Plan Amendment and New Use Permit.

Jessup Cellars – The property owner for Jessup Cellars tasting room has requested staff to look into the process for converting the housing unit that is on site into a private tasting room.

ZDRB – The ZDRB met on Tuesday, October 10^th ZDRB to consider a request for approval of a Use Permit and Master Development Plan Amendment for the “To Go” use for R & D Restaurant. The ZDRB recommended approval of the proposed amendments to the Town Council. The ZDRB recommendation and proposed amendments will be considered by the Town Council on November 7^th.

Staff are beginning initial preparation of the November 14^th ZDRB meeting agenda and agenda materials. Staff anticipates a Zoning Map Amendment, Design Review for 2006 Webber Street, and possibly an overview of the ZDRB Handbook to further our training and sharing of information with the ZDRB.
