Community Member Questionnaire

Over the past few months, Town Council met to explore vital topics such as health, climate, safety, housing, and strategic planning. These sessions were not just about discussions but laying the groundwork for the future of our community. We're now turning to you, our community members, seeking your insights through a short questionnaire. Your feedback is important as we gear up for a Town Council goal-setting retreat and workshop to be held January 30, 2024. Your perspectives play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic planning process. Remember, your voice matters, and together, we'll chart a course that reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. So, take a moment to share your thoughts, and let's build a future we can all be proud of.

To help better inform you about the strategic planning process, we've compiled a list of guiding documents, including the current Strategic Planning Framework and Critical Success Factors. To view the resources, visit the Strategic Planning page on our website. Please complete the questionnaire by January 15, 2024.

If you need assistance or have questions, please email townclerk@yville.com or call Town Hall at (707) 944-8851.

Council Meeting Update

At Tuesday's Town Council meeting, the council recognized and expressed gratitude to staff through a proclamation for the town office holiday closure. Offices will be closed December 25 through January 1 and will reopen January 2. Additionally, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Eddy Gomez in recognition of his dedicated service from 2018 to 2023. Eddy served in various capacities, including as a management fellow, management analyst, and finally as the town clerk. The council acknowledged his valuable contributions, and it was announced that his last day will be on December 8, 2023.

Council also received several informative presentations related to town finances. The first presentation covered the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and the second presentation provided information about a risk assessment and review of the financial reserve funds.

A public hearing was held for the first reading of an ordinance to amend the Town of Yountville Zoning map. At the Zoning & Design Review Board meeting held on November 14, 2023, the board received staff’s presentation and approved a motion to recommend the Town Council approve the proposed ordinance. The previous amendment for the Town of Yountville’s Zoning Map was approved in September of 2022 and included errors which are proposed to be amended in this update. No new zoning districts or zoning district changes are proposed, the only proposed changes are to bring the visual map into compliance with previously approved ordinances.

Lastly, Council received a presentation on the emergency preparedness workshop series held in September and October. The workshops were well received and future planning is already underway!

Discussions will include things like sun and shade patterns, existing trees and landscaping, water efficient and low maintenance plantings, areas for seasonal/celebratory plantings and demonstration areas for Napa native, pollinator, and succulent/garden plantings.
