Move More, Connect More Looking for simple ways to boost your well-being? In Yountville, it can be as easy as getting outside. A short stroll through Town, a lap around the park, or simply moving your body in a way that works for you can make a meaningful difference. Walking and gentle movement not only improve physical health, but they also lift your mood, reduce stress, and offer a chance to connect with neighbors, nature, and the beauty of our community. We recognize that not everyone moves the same way and that’s okay. Whether you walk, roll, or participate in seated exercises at home or outdoors, every bit of movement contributes to your well-being. Even taking time to enjoy fresh air, greet a neighbor, or sit in a natural space can support a sense of connection and calm. Let’s make Yountville a place where health and connection are part of everyday life for everyone. We can shape a community where well-being is a shared journey, one small step at a time.

Introducing Public Works' New Stihl EV Mover The Town of Yountville Public Works Department is proud to introduce the newest addition to its maintenance fleet: a STIHL electric zero-turn mower. This state-of-the-art equipment reflects our commitment to sustainability through the Yountville Green initiative. Why does this matter? Unlike traditional gas-powered mowers, this all-electric model produces zero emissions, significantly reduces noise pollution, and lowers our carbon footprint. It helps us keep our parks and public spaces beautifully maintained in a more climate-friendly way. Investments like this allow us to lead by example and show that how our operations can make meaningful progress toward environmental responsibility. We are excited for the addition as our Public Works team continues making Yountville a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable place to live, work, and visit.

On July 15, the Town Council approved plans to remodel the former Perry Lang’s/Compadres building on Washington Street. The refreshed design features a beautiful new wrap-around porch and other cosmetic upgrades that will bring new life to this familiar corner of town. Property owner Gary Jabara has announced that the upcoming restaurant will be called Wylde and will offer a Spanish and Portuguese tapas-inspired menu. Construction is expected to take about six months, with a grand opening anticipated in spring 2026.

Starting in July, Upper Valley Disposal Service and Upper Valley Waste Management Agency staff will be inspecting trash, recycling, and compost carts at residences up valley. They will be checking to see if materials are being placed in the correct carts and will leave educational tags with helpful information if they notice anything misplaced. If you see them in the neighborhood, feel free to say hello or ask questions — they are there to help! These inspections are required under state regulations (SB 1383) and will help identify where common mistakes are happening so they can improve future outreach and education efforts. Join PG&E at Upcoming Public Participation Hearings Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), alongside the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and other California gas utilities, invites you to participate in upcoming Public Participation Hearings to help shape the future of California’s natural gas system. These hearings are part of a formal CPUC process (R.24-09-012) focused on long-term gas system planning. Together, we aim to ensure safe, reliable, and climate-friendly energy service for the years ahead, including exploring neighborhood decarbonization projects as called for under Senate Bill (SB) 1221. Why Your Input Matters Your voice is essential in helping guide where and how California transitions to cleaner energy solutions. Public comments will be recorded and added to the official proceeding record, ensuring that your feedback informs decisions about priority neighborhood decarbonization zones and pilot projects that advance California’s carbon neutrality goals. When and How to Participate PG&E encourages you to join one of the two virtual hearings: August 7, 2025 2:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. Watch online: adminmonitor.com/ca/cpuc/ Make a public comment by phone: Call 1-800-857-1917, enter passcode 6032788#, press *1, and record your name when prompted.
If you require language interpretation, please contact the CPUC Public Advisor’s Office at least five business days before the hearing (contact details below). About the Proceeding SB 1221 recognizes the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from natural gas use in California’s homes and neighborhoods. The CPUC has been authorized to approve up to 30 pilot projects that replace aging gas infrastructure with cost-effective, zero-emission alternatives in selected neighborhoods. PG&E and other gas utilities have been tasked with submitting system maps and recommendations for priority zones by July 2025. Your input will help ensure these decisions reflect community perspectives and priorities. Learn More or Provide Written Comments Questions or Assistance
