November 7, 2025 Edition

In the last edition of the Yountville Connection, we introduced Proudly Serving, a segment highlighting how Town staff carry out the day-to-day and long-range work that supports our community. This series is intended to provide a clear look at how projects move from concept to action, and how our departments coordinate to deliver services and maintain Yountville’s high standard of care.

As we move deeper into the planning phase for the Yountville Commons, the pool concept remains an important component that warrants additional discussion. This edition’s video update highlights the continuing conversation to refine this part of the plan and evaluate design considerations to ensure the project supports community needs and long-term sustainability.

The pool discussion will continue at the upcoming Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) meeting on November 20 at 4:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers. Community members are encouraged to attend the meeting or they may review the agenda and submit public comment to publiccomment@yville.com.

Watch the video below to hear Parks and Recreation Director Samantha Holland recap the recent Town Council discussion on the Yountville Commons pool options and learn more.

Halloween Block Party Photo Gallery Now Available

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Yountville’s first-ever Halloween Block Party. The evening brought neighbors, families, and visitors together in the heart of Town to enjoy costumes, music, and a welcoming atmosphere. We also extend our appreciation to the local businesses who participated and helped create such a lively, community-focused event.

Event photography is now available to view and download. We invite you to take a look and relive some of your favorite moments from the night:

Farmstand Garden

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and care for the FarmStand Garden. The garden is a community effort, guided by volunteers who plant, maintain, and harvest together to make fresh, seasonal produce available locally.

Much of what is grown in the garden is used directly by The Coop, where simple, seasonal foods are prepared to share with neighbors. Community members can also purchase discounted produce through the Coop, keeping the garden’s harvest accessible and affordable.

We appreciate the ongoing leadership and stewardship shown by Peter Jacobsen and the residents who have taken an active role in tending the space and helping tell its story. Their involvement demonstrates how small, consistent contributions can shape something meaningful for the community.

As we move into the wetter months, visitors are welcome to bring their Coop “bites” to enjoy in the Locals Lounge at Yountville Commons. The Lounge offers a comfortable indoor space to gather, relax, or visit with neighbors. Locals Lounge hours mirror Yountville Fit hours.

Seasonal Street Sweeping

Seasonal street sweeping has begun. During this time of year, sweeping helps clear fallen leaves and debris to keep storm drains flowing and roadways safe. Sweeping occurs on Fridays and will continue for approximately eight weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Self-Serve Sandbags Available

A self-serve sandbag station is now available for community use at the south parking lot gravel area south of Veterans Park. Residents are welcome to pack sandbags to help with localized storm preparedness and minor water diversion needs.

The station is free to use, and you will need to bring your own shovel.
Thank you to our Municipal Operations team for preparing the station for the winter season and ensuring residents have access to simple preparedness tools when needed.

Countywide Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

Napa County is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan, which helps our communities prepare for and reduce the long-term risks from natural hazards such as floods, wildfires, earthquakes, and severe storms. Updating this plan is required every five years to remain eligible for federal funding that supports disaster preparedness and recovery projects.

This effort is being led by the Napa County Office of Emergency Management and includes the County, the Town of Yountville, and other local cities. The plan will identify local hazards, evaluate potential impacts, and outline strategies to help protect residents, property, and community infrastructure.

Public input is an important part of this process. In the coming months, the County will gather feedback to help shape the plan’s priorities.

To learn more or take the visit the project's website here: Napa County Hazard Mitigation.

Wreaths Across America – Yountville

The Yountville Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the California Veterans Home – Yountville to bring Wreaths Across America to the Yountville Veterans Home Cemetery.

Wreaths Across America is a national program that honors and remembers veterans by placing wreaths at more than 3,000 cemeteries across the country and abroad. Here in Yountville, the goal is to place a wreath at each of the nearly 6,000 graves at the Veterans Home Cemetery.

Community members are invited to sponsor a wreath for $17 to be placed during the National Wreaths Across America Ceremony on Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Yountville Veterans Home Cemetery.

Wreaths will also be placed at the George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery, offering two opportunities locally to support this meaningful tribute.

PG&E Community Open House Recap

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Open House hosted by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) on Wednesday, October 29 at the Yountville Community Center. The open-floor format provided an opportunity for residents to speak directly with PG&E representatives, ask questions about recent outages, and Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings, and learn more about ongoing efforts to improve service reliability in our area.

For those who were unable to attend, the EPSS presentation is available here.

A Simple Gesture: Make a Simple Gesture, Change a Life

When the cupboard is bare, hope can begin with something as small as a green bag. The A Simple Gesture Green Bag Program invites Napa County residents to join a growing network of neighbors turning generosity into lasting impact.

Here’s how it works: sign up to receive a reusable green bag, fill it with non-perishable food items from the “most-needed” list, and place it outside on your assigned pick-up day. Volunteers collect the bags and deliver the donations directly to local food-pantry partners supporting families across Napa County.

Why it matters: every filled bag is more than a donation — it’s a gesture of care, community, and shared purpose. With just a few small actions, you can help ensure that no neighbor goes hungry.

To learn more or sign up, visit A Simple Gesture’s Green Bag Program and become part of this simple but powerful movement to feed hope in our community.
