NOTICE OF ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the Town of Yountville on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, for the following Officers and Measure 

For two (2) Members of the Town Council                 Full term of four years

Ballot Measure T (Regulation and Taxation of Cannabis Retail Businesses)                                                                                    

"Shall the measure authorizing the Town Council to approve one cannabis retail business allowing retail sale, delivery, and/or on-site consumption of adult-use cannabis in the Town of Yountville excluding residential zones, allowing the Town to establish regulations and fees, requiring a use permit and conditions to operate, and permitting the Town Council to establish an ongoing general tax up to 3% on the business’ gross receipts to raise an estimated $30,000 to $100,000 annually, be adopted?"

The nomination period for these offices begins on July 13, 2020 and closes on August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. 

If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the Town are not filed by August 7, 2020 (the 88th day before the election) the voters shall have until August 12, 2020 (the 83rd day before the election), to nominate candidates other than the person(s) who are the incumbents on August 7, 2020 (the 88th day before the election), for that incumbent’s elective office. This extension is not applicable where there is no incumbent eligible to be elected.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Section 10229 of the California Elections Code.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.  Please check with Napa County for Voter Assistance Center locations.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, appointments are required to pick-up and to file Nomination Papers. Review of Nomination Papers may be done electronically via Zoom or other electronic meeting option.
