  1. Samantha Holland

    Samantha Holland

    Parks and Recreation Director

    Samantha Holland was born and raised in the Napa Valley and is now happily raising her son here. Starting in the field of Parks and Recreation as a Summer Camp Site Director in Napa, Samantha has spent over 25 years working for local municipalities creating places and programs for residents and visitors to be healthy, explore, gather, learn and play! Samantha has been with the Town of Yountville since 2010. Her office is located at the Yountville Community Center.


  1. Jennifer Carvalho

    Jennifer Carvalho

    Recreation Supervisor

    Jennifer joined the Town of Yountville team in 1989. As a lifelong Yountville Resident, Jennifer has deep roots in our community. Jennifer has filled many rolls in Parks and Recreation over the years including Lifeguard, Summer Camp Leader, General Recreation Coordinator and now Supervisor. Jennifer has had a hand in just about every Parks and Rec activity or event over the last 30 years! She is currently in charge of all of our Adult Classes, Excursions and some special events!


  1. Garrett Kuehle

    Garrett Kuehle

    Recreation Coordinator

    Garrett joined our team in 2012 as a Recreation Assistant in our After School and then Summer Camp Programs. He stayed with us through college seasonally and then came back as a lead staff in our After School and Summer Camp Programs. In 2017, Garrett became our full time Recreation Coordinator and he is currently overseeing Community Center Rentals, Sports and Special Events.

    Recreation Coordinator

    Taylor Solis was born and raised in Yountville and attended Yountville Elementary School. Taylor has worked for our department for 10 years in a number of rolls before graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with her degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Degree. Taylor joined our team as a full time employee in November 2022 and oversees Camps, Family Programs, Events and Marketing.

    Stacy Diaz

    Administrative Assistant

    Stacy joined the Town of Yountville in August of 2007 and has been the glue that holds the department together since. Stacy is the front desk and first line customer service person for Parks and Recreation! She is also a MiMi to 5 young grandchildren who are here pride and joy. When she's not busy being a MiMi, Stacy is super crafty!

We absolutely could not do what we do without our team of Part Time and Seasonal Employees. In every aspect of Parks and Recreation, they are there supporting, leading, smiling and helping. We are very fortunate to have this team of dedicated people working with us!

Department Summary of Responsibilities

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide healthy lifestyle promoting activities, classes and services for all ages and interests.

The responsibilities of the Parks and Recreation Department include:

  • Managing the daily operations as well as the long range planning of the Parks and Recreation Department, all of its services and facilities
  • Supervises department personnel including the hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline; mentor and develop employees and fostering creativity
  • Oversees, develops and implements administrative procedures and policies associated with recreation programs and facilities
  • Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness off departmental services and makes necessary improvements
  • Prepares and monitors the annual budget, makes recommendations regarding fees and fee collections
  • Provides staff support to various committees as assigned including the Parks and Community Services Commission, Recycling and Resource Conservation Committee, and other ad hoc committees
  • Works collaboratively with citizen and other public groups agencies and organizations to bring about coordinated, effective delivery of recreation, Community Center and other related community services
  • Prepares reports and studies related to recreation programs, capital improvements, facility maintenance and other assigned activities
  • Organizes and develops volunteer programs
  • Assists in the planning and organizing of community events; coordinates, develops, distributes various public information and marketing materials related to Town services and programs including the administration of the Town newsletter
  • Prepares and monitors grants
  • Assists in the planning, financing and development of recreational facilities and Community Center renovation and expansion
  • Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints
  • Performs others related duties and special projects as assigned by the Town Manager
